Excellent visit to universal Osaka. Only negative is you either need two days to see the park unless you buy express pass. The negative is the express passes are almost twice the price on average of park admission.

The whole venue was excellent we were there from 915am till close. However the crowds were to much and too many people jammed in attractions, need better crowd control and better access it was hot and no shade lining up for 40 -60+ mins is unacceptable.

Amazing experience! We arrived at 8:00 AM (the park opened at 8:30), which gave us a great head start. As soon as we got in, we headed straight to Super Nintendo World and enjoyed every bit of it. The longest wait was for Donkey Kong — but totally worth it! We stayed until 9:00 PM and managed to do all the thrill rides and scream-worthy attractions. Our top favorites: The Flying Dinosaur, Hollywood Dream, and Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey — absolutely unforgettable! We visited Universal Studios as a family with two teenagers, and it was definitely one of the highlights of our trip to Japan!

The Harry Potter World was fantastic and unbeatable better then anything else. So nice Souvenirs, but unfortunatly seriously a way to expensiv. Easy ticket entrance and nice and friendly staff. I was heaps dissapointed from the Super Mario World Rides tho. Not worth it at all to wait in a queue for that! The queues in generell were to long, we missed out on heaps of things because of that. But those details in the Mario world were awesome, good on you! the Jurassic World and Harry potter world were my favourites

Truly impressive, built to the smallest detail. I spent the whole day. Super Nintendo world TOP. Too bad about the very long lines and waits, but it fits given the amount of people there.

Selection of rides at the park was very good. We particularly liked rides that were a little different like backdrop and koopa karts. We missed out on Minecraft madness because the ride broke down and there was no indication if we would be able to get on if we stayed. The nintendo world area was spectacular but too busy to really be enjoyable for us Otherwise

The rides and shows are great but you can't experience very many due to over admittance and even the areas you have to reserve time for are over crowded.

The Nintendo area was spectacular and the roaming performers were excellent. I loved the characters coming out to meet the visitors and noticed how they took time to talk to individual children. The staff were exceptional and always polite and smiling. We enjoyed the Water World show however we struggled to find other performances because we couldn't figure out what happened where. We spent a lot of time looking at maps. The crowds were excessive. It took so long in lines and to walk around which meant we really did not cover most of the park. My phone ran out of power and the Charge Spot did not accept Australian PayPal cards. I know we are in Japan but some English translation would have been good on the shows. I would have bought an express pass but was unsure what it provided.

Easy to access, tickets were available in e-version on the app. Easy passage through the gate with QR code to enter the park. Park with magnificent scenery. Japanese staff are welcoming, smiling and caring. The attractions are immersive. Marioland is extra ordinary, even though it's crowded! Remember to reserve a time slot to access it with the USJ app. Meals are accessible. We had an excellent day.

The first one we went on was pretty amazing. I can't remember exactly the name of it. But I think it was called:Dreamland or something like that. It was the 1st actual roller coaster ride that scared me but was also fun. In Canada,we have a smaller one, wooden one but it's not as fun as this one.

I was totally disappointed because the way who can enter the Nintendo world was chosen by lottery, for which we could applied only once. This the own park that I have wver visit with "lottery " area. Additionally I was not able to use one of the attraction because of body restrictions. On the top on one of the attraction it was done absolutly unapproved joke with my husband that he is to fat.

It was very busy and I didn't get into many of the exibits, however full marks for the way it was created. Lived the escalator taking you up to the walkway which gave you a great view of everytbing. I did go into the Monaco pavillion which was beautiful and relaxing. Would have happilly sat in there and relaxed if there had been seating. It was very thought provoking, what are we doing to our oceans and what are we do to preserve them.

Great diversity in pavillions, good organization, beautiful lightshow at the end of the day, but the higlight is the design: the wooden ring around the Expo, with beautiful greens and flowers and soothing music!

Expo Osaka is a memorable event. My favorite pavilions are Portugal, France and Korea and be sure to be present for the water and air night show. Ofcorse there should be other fantastic pavilions but it's not possible to visit all of them in two days. For example the German one outside is great but I couldn't get in. There are also nice ideas, add the bamboo bench

It was great! Had so many inclusions ! We enjoyed the experiences more than anything! Got to go to a Giant ferris wheel, ride on the Osaka metro. Enjoyed the Osaka castle. There were probably few other things I'm sure we missed. Wish it had a little more specifics about what it included especially with the activities and Trains.. for example did you know it doesn't include the entirety of the nankai line? Especially out to izumisano. More details on what's included would be great so people who like to be prepared know what they're in for and can plan and accommodate.

Would be nice if you also included the timed entry tickets or even just clear instructions. You cannot get them on the day.. you must book them in advance on the USJ app. That should've been more clear. We missed out on that part of the park and were very disappointed.

Your guide to booking Universal Studios Japan tickets

Before you book your tickets for the USJ, here’s what you should know to get the most out of your ticket purchase.

Studio Pass vs. Express Pass: What’s the difference?

First things first: the Studio Pass and Express Pass are two separate tickets.

  • Studio Pass: This is your main entry ticket to Universal Studios Japan. It gives you access to the park, its themed areas, and all the attractions.
  • Express Pass: Sold separately, this pass lets you skip the regular lines at select popular rides. While it’s not required, it’s highly recommended, especially on weekends or holidays.

Studio Pass types: Which one fits your schedule?

  • 1-Day Studio Pass: Ideal for those short on time who want to focus on the park’s most popular rides in a single visit.
  • 1.5-Day Studio Pass: Includes afternoon entry (from 3pm) on Day 1 and full-day access on Day 2, great for catching nighttime shows and enjoying rides with fresher crowds the next morning.
  • 2-Day Studio Pass: Perfect for theme park lovers or families who want a slower pace and a more complete experience over two full days.

Need more from a single visit? Consider the Express Pass

If you want to make the most of a single day, the Express Pass is a must. For an extra ¥9,800+ (depending on the type), this pass can cut wait times by up to 70%, giving you more time to enjoy top attractions that often have queues over 2 hours. It’s a game-changer, especially during busy times. You can buy the Studio Pass and Express Pass separately or as a convenient combo.

Express Pass: Which one should you pick?

The Express Pass 4 gives you quicker access to four major attractions, while the Express Pass 7 covers seven rides, ensuring you don’t miss out on any top experiences. If your goal is to hit all the top rides in one visit, the Express Pass 7 is worth the extra investment.

Area-timed entry tickets

Attractions like Super Nintendo World™ and The Wizarding World of Harry Potter™ require timed entry tickets (free of cost). These tickets are available via the USJ app or at entry points in the park. If you have an Express Pass, timed entry for one or both of these areas (depending on the pass selected) is included, and the slot will be assigned randomly for your visit date. Check your voucher for the assigned timings.

VIP experience

The guided VIP Tours at Universal Studios Japan provide the ultimate experience by allowing you to skip both regular and express queues for all attractions. Available in 3-hour, 5-hour, and 8-hour options, these tours offer a more personalized visit with exclusive access and special perks.

Get more from one booking

There are several combo tickets available that include admission to Universal Studios Japan along with access to select attractions in Osaka, such as Osaka Castle, Expo 2025 Osaka, and more. This is a great option if you want to explore more of the city in addition to your USJ visit.

It was a very nice experience, but if the details about the location of the game were better, as we didn't know the name of the donky king game from the list, and as first-time visitors to the park, we didn't know the names of the games.
